Poha Chivda / Chiwda

Poha Chivda is a crispy flattened rice (Poha) which flavovours with peanuts and spices.Ingredients for both mixture and chivda is same but the only difference is we deep fry all ing. for Mixture and for Chivda we roast all.So many types are in chivda..... And you all know Mixture and Chivda are favourite indian snack.Chivda is very popular in Maharashtra.Thin Poha variety is perfect for Chivda.


 This is the first time i prepare chivda in home.Actually I had tasted 2years before in chennai.Last week, we went weekend outing with friend family and my friend came with this Poha Chivda.Really, it tastes well.It perfectly suits for the drizzling rain in Salalah.I enjoyed that atmosphere and one of the best memorable days in my life...and my wedding anniversary day too..Within 15mins we all, including kids finish it off.Thanks to Mirudhu for reminding me this recipe.Very happy that My Little Prince loves it.Easy to prepare.Poha Chivda is a healthy low-fat snack idea for kids.

Poha Chivda Recipe :
Thats it : Dry Fry Poha – Seeding – Mix well
Total Time : 20mins
Shelf Life : 1 month
Ingredients :
Thin Poha
3 Cups
3 tsp
1 tsp
Green chillies
Curry leaves
2 sprigs
½ tsp
Turmeric powder
½ tsp
Channa dal(roasted)
3 tbsp
Fried gram
¼ Cup
2 tbsp
Peanuts   (roasted)
3 tbsp
Coconut slice
1 tbsp
Lemon juice
½ tsp
1 tsp
1 tsp

You can also add 2 tbsp of  cashews and
1 cup of Oats too while seeding.

Procedure :
    # Heat kadai,add poha and dry fry two mins till gets crisp.Keep aside.  
        # Roast channa dhal,peanuts,fried gram til light brown in colour.Keep aside.
11. In kadai,add oil,mustard ,after it splutters,channa dal,peanuts,fried gram,raisins,green chillies,curry leaves,hing,turmeric powder,lemon juice.
22.  Add poha and mix well till the colour and ing. blends well.Finally sprinkle sugar,mix and switch off.
Spread in the plate.After it cools,store it in air-tight container.It stays for a month.
Healthy Poha Chivda is Ready....!


Serve it as evening snack with hot tea.
