Vegetable Rasam

Vegetable Rasam is an usual rasam which is added with cooked and mashed veggie paste. You all know that rasam is the best intake during sick days both tastewise and healthwise.It gives instant relief and energy to our body.It recovers quickly from illness.

I used to prepare Veg rasam during sick days like cold,cough and fever.I watched this recipe from a Tv show and tried.It tastes well.You can drink this as a soup.

Vegetable Rasam Recipe :
Thats it : Make Rasam – Add Veggie Paste –Boil
Cooking Time : 20mins   
Serves : 3 persons

Ingredients :

 Veggies {carrot,beans,potato,
1 Cup
½ tsp
Jeera/Cumin seeds
Channa dhal
Coriander seeds
1 tbsp
Red chilli
¼ tsp
Curry leaves
a sprig
Turmeric powder
a pinch
lemon sized
1/4 tsp
to taste
You can use Rasam powder 1 ½ tbsp instead of unbold ingredients.

Procedure :

# Soak lemon sized tamarind in 1 cup of water for 10mins.Extract juice discard the pulp.

1.Cook Veggies with immersing level of water OR pressure cook for 1whistle.Drain the water and reserve it.Grind veggies as paste.

2.Dry fry pepper,jeera,channa dhal,coriander seeds,red chilli for 2mins in low flame without getting burnt.Dry grind finely. 
[(OR) add 1 ½ tbsp of Rasam powder] 
1.Heat a kadai,add oil,mustard,after it splutters,add urad dhal,red chillies,hing,curry leaves,tamarind      water,rasam powder,2 cups of water/veggies boiled water.
2.Make it to start boil with very low-flame till raw smell leaves.
3.Add Veggie paste,jaggery and mix well.Cook for 2mins.
4.Switch-off the stove.
5.Add coriander leaves,serve hot.

Healthy Vegetable Rasam is Ready.....!

Serving Suggestions :
# Serve hot with any Poriyal
# Drink as a Soup

Notes :
1.Dont stir Rasam while serving as the essence itself having all nutritients.This is the traditional way of serving rasam.
2.You can use it for two days at room temperature.
