How To Make Sprouts ?

Sprouts is a process of germinating seeds / beans which can be consumed either raw or cooked.There are variety of sprouts such as moong bean,green moong bean,chickpea and these are mainly used in fresh salads,grevies,snacks.


Health Benifits : Sprouts has a good amount of protein and other nutritient also.Sprouts,one of the best foods if you are looking for weight loss ,as it has fewer calories which helps to keep your weight under control.Eating sprouts heps to regulate blood pressure levels,increase our digestion power and can flush out the impurities and detoxifies our blood.Eating sprouts regularly can help you in maintaining healthy and beautiful skin.


Sprouts can be easily prepared from seeds / beans using two methods.Soak seeds / beans for 8 hrs.Drain the water and keep it in air-tight container OR tie it in muslin / cotton cloth for 12hrs in a dark place.I prefer go with air-tight container.I always include sprouts in our food diet once in a week.Sprouts are the best intake during Pregnancy,which supplies all the nutrients to the baby which is inside the womb.Very healthy food for kids ,which plays vital role in their memory power / immune system and body growth.

How To Make Sprouts ?
Thats it : Soak beans – Drain it – Keep Covered
Total Time : 1 ½ - 2days
Serves : 2persons

Ingredients :

i)Sprouts Using Green Moong bean :

Green Moong Bean
1Cup
Air-tight container / Muslin cloth
1

Procedure :
1.Soak green moong bean with 2 cups of water for 5-8 hrs.
2.Drain the water and keep it in air-tight container OR tie it in muslin cloth for 10 hrs in darker place.
3.Open it ,if you want longer sprouts, keep it undisturbed for another 4 hrs.(Green moong bean sprouted faster than others)


(If you are waiting for long sprouts after a day(not soaking time),just rinse once with water and drain it,do the same process.If you are using muslin cloth ,just open and sprinkle water and tie it or hang it again for 4 hrs)

ii)Sprouts using Black Chickpea :

Black Chickpea
1Cup
Air-tight container / Muslin cloth
1

Precedure :
1.Soak black chickpea with 3 cups of water for 8 hrs.
2.Drain the water and keep it in air-tight container OR tie it in muslin cloth and hang it for 12 hrs in darker place.
3.Open it ,if you want longer sprouts, keep it undisturbed for another 8 hrs.


(If you are waiting for long sprouts after a day(not soaking time),just rinse once with waterand drain it.do the same process.If you are using muslin cloth ,just open and sprinkle water and tie it or hang it again for 4-8 hrs)

Notes :
1.Sprouting time differs from every seeds / beans with climatic conditions and also the quality of seeds / beans.
2.Green moong bean sprouts faster than others.
3.You can also use old dhoty(Veshti) as a muslin cloth for making sprouts. 
4.After soaking it doubles in size.
