Idly Sambar is a simple ,healthy South-Indian recipe.Sambar is a protein rich recipe and it is prepare with moong dal/toor dal.It goes well with idly,dosai,pongal.Easily digestible.Best intake for kids,adults and yelder people too.People start feeding this mild sambar with idly as infant's first solid food from their six months.

Ingredients :
Moong dal / Toor dal

Coriander Leaves

1 sprig

to taste(1 tsp)

To Temper :
Oil / Ghee

1 tbsp

Mustard
|
1 tsp
|
Urad dhal
|
½ tsp
|
Red chillies
|

2 chopped

Curry Leaves

Procedure :
1.In Cooker,add Moong dal / Toor dal and wash well.Now add tomato,6onions,garlic pods 2,green chilli,veggies,turmeric powder,asafoetida,1Cup of water.Pressure Cook for 3 whistles.Cook in medium flame.
2.Mash with ladle,add 1 cup of water,Sambar powder.Boil for 3-4 mins till sambar pdr’s raw smell goes.Add salt,mix well.Keep aside.
Meanwhile heat a seeding pan add oil,mustard,urad dhal,red chillies,onion,Curry leaves and fry till onion gets brown colour.
Add Seeding ,garnish with coriander leaves.Close the lid.
Tiffin Sambar is Ready...!
Serving Suggestions :
-Serve hot with Idly,Dosai,Pongal
Notes :
1.You can also use 3 chillies and avoid sambar powder.(very easy sambar)
2.Am not adding veggies to the above sambar.3.You can also add 1/4 tsp of chilli powder.
