Turmeric Milk / Panangarkandu Paal

Traditionally Turmeric Milk comes from many Ayurveda Practices and Medicine in Indian cultures.Turmeric Milk is a household remedy to relieve a chronic cough and cure throat infection.The antiseptic and astringent properties of turmeric combined with the soothing effect of milk is responsible for providing quick relief from respiratory problems including a dry cough.



Cold,Cough stays for three days for sure but the remedies are for to stop exceed than that and 
better relief during illness.


I always prefer taking Turmeric milk during Cold,Cough,Sore throat.Take two times a day for a better relief.For kids ,avoid adding pepper corns  as they hate to smell and said “No”.So use only turmeric powder and say “Yellow Milk” to them.


Turmeric / Haldi


Turmeric is known as a “Healing spice” for curing sore throats,cold,cough,stomach ache due to its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.

Panangarkandu / Palm Sugar Crystals


Palm jaggery is made from the sap extract of palm trees.It is salty to taste and much healthier due to its cooling effects over human body and not having bone meal content which is used for whitening processed sugar.The price of the palm jaggery is double that of sugar for its health benifits.

                                Pepper Corns


Pepper Corn is known as “King of Spices”.Various colours of pepper corns are there like Black,White,Green,Red/Orange Pepper corns.




Turmeric Milk Recipe :

Thats it : Boil Milk – Mix all & Boil – Serve Hot  
Cooking Time : 10mins
Serves : 2 Persons

Ingredients :

Milk
1 ½ Cup
Water
¼ Cup
Turmeric powder / Haldi
¼ tsp
Palm sugar crystals /
Panangarkandu
2 tbsp
Pepper (crushed/Powdered)
¼ tsp

You can also add 2 tbsp sugar / 2 tbsp honey
 instead Panangarkandu.

Procedure :

1.Heat milk and water , after it boils ,reduce the flame to low.Add turmeric powder and give a stir with a spoon or swirl for a better mix.Boil it for 2mins till raw smell leaves.


2.Add Pepper and Panangarkandu ,mix well.Boil it for a min.Make it a lenghthy pour for 2times.Strain it using filter.


Serve Hot or Warm.


Notes :
1.Dont drink this after getting cool as the healing properties decreased.
2.You can also add crushed ginger with turmeric and make it boil.
3.If you are using honey ,add it after switch off the flame and mix well.
