Kothamalli Chutney / Coriander Leaves Chutney


Coriander Leaves / Kothamalli ilai / Chinese Parsley / Cilantro is a body refreshing herbs.People ended up their yummy dishes with flavourful coriander leaves in the part of garnishing.Both Coriander leaves / Cilantro and Parsley looks same wheareas Flat Leaf Parsley has less in fragrant.

How To Store ?
*Wrap it in News paper *Pack it in zip-lock cover and keep it under refrigeration.

Kothamalli / Coriander Leaves Chutney Recipe :
Thats it : Wash Leaves – Fry – Grind
Cooking Time : 15mins
Serves : 2Persons

Ingredients :

Oil
2tsp
Green chillies / red chillies
2
Small / Pearl onions
10
Coriander Leaves
(a bunch)
2Cups
(tightly packed)
Tamarind
½ tsp
Coconut
2tbsp

To Temper :
Oil
1tsp
Mustard
½ tsp
Urad dhal
¼ tsp
Asafoetida/Perungaayam
2pinches
Curry Leaves
½ sprig

Procedure :
# Wash leaves and drain it.Chop it.No need to chop the small onions,just peel off the skin,if you are using big onion then chop it.

1.Heat a pan,add oil,green chillies,small onion,fry till onion turns brown in colour.


2.Now add chopped coriander leaves,tamarind,coconut,mix well and immediately switch off the flame(no need to fry).Rest it for cool down.


3.After cooling down it shrinks.Now grind it as smooth with little water,add salt.Temper with oil,mustard,after it splutters,urad dhal.asafoetida,curryleaves.Add it to the chutney.

Kothamalli Chutney is Ready...!

Notes :
1.You can also add thin/tender stems of coriander leaves bunch.
2.After adding leaves,mix and switch off immediately,It was cooked & shrinked by pan heat itself.

3.You can do the same process with mint leaves for Mint / Pudhina Chutney.
