Mint Pulao / Pudhina Sadham


Mint / Pudhina Rice is a healthy dish which can be prepared quickly.Mint has numerous health benifits.Intake of mint refreshing our body and purifies blood.It ignores bad odour from mouth.In my home,mint pulao is a very rare dish,as i always go with mint chutney or include it in chicken dishes.I serve mint pulao with Potato fry.

Health Benifits :    



Mint contains antioxidant,anti-inflammatory properties,menthol which is a natural decongestant that helps to break up phlegm and mucus.It can also be effective,when combined with Tea for relieving Sore Throats.It helps for digestion.

Mint Pulao Recipe :
Thats it : Make Puree – Fry – Cook with Rice
Cooking Time : 30mins  Serves : 2Persons

Ingredients :
To Grind :
Mint Leaves
1 ½ Cups(tightly Packed)
Coriander Leaves
½ Cup
Green chillies
2
Garlic
3Pods
Onion
3(small)
Cashew
4

Oil,Ghee
1tbsp,1tsp
Cinnamon(Pattai)
1”inch piece
Clove(Krambu)
2
Cardamom(Elakkai)
1Pod
Bay Leaf
1
Big Onion
1Chopped
Potato / Peas(optional)
½ Cup
Basmati Rice
1 ½ Cup
Water
2 ¼ Cup
Salt
1tsp
Lemon(optional)
½ lemon juice

Preparation : For Mint Pulao

# Wash Mint leaves,Chop Onions,Potato.
# Soak basmati rice with water for 20mins.
# Grind Coriander leaves,mint leaves,green chillies,garlic,onion,cashew into smooth paste with little water.

Cook in medium flame :

1.In a cooker pan,add oil,ghee,cinnamon,clove.cardamom,bay leaf,big onion,10mint leaves,fry till onion looks transparent.Fry for 3mins.


2.Add ground mint paste,fry till raw smell leaves(Now it changes dark in colour & bacame thick too).


3.Drain the water from soaked rice,add it,add water,salt.Pressure cook for 3 whistles.
After pressure releases fluff the rice with fork.Add lemon juice.mix gently.


Mint Pulao is Ready...!


Serve it with any dry fry,chips.
Notes :
1.Basmati Rice & Water Ratio = 1Cup:1.5Cup
2.You can also make it to boil after adding water & rice,then pressure cook for one whistle.
3.I fried the paste in pan & transfer to the cooker(my cooker is busy with another dish that time so i use to click the pan).You can do the whole process in cooker.
4.Adding lemon juice is optional.
5.For Mint Rice / Pudhina Sadham :
Fry and grind the “To grind” table.
Add it the cooked rice.Mix well.
Seeding : oil,chopped onion,red chillies,Curry leaves.
