Sweet Potato Cutlets / Veg Cutlets

Cutlets are crispy in outer and has cooked items inside which is softer.You can use this as a base method to prepare cutlets with your favourite Veggies OR with Chicken,Fish.All the ages of people like cutlets,especially kids.They love to eat with tomato sauce,the best combination ever.Cutlets are very easy to prepare with our regular kitchenhold items.Potato is the main ingredient in cutlet.

Here,i use Sweet Potato for the variation.Already i posted Sweet Potato Dumplingslong back,with that confidence i prepare that.It tastes yummy like Potato / Veg cutlets.You can make the patties and refrigerate it and use it within 2days.The perfect Party Snack too.

Sweet Potato :

Sweet Potatoes are a great source of beta-carotene which is very good for your eye-vision.The colour of sweet potato skin may vary from to white to orange,purple to brown but no matter what the colour is,make sure you dont peel it off.A sweet potatoes skin contributes significant amounts of Vitamin C,fiber,potassium.Intake of sweet popatoes are very good for the people who suffered from Diabetes,Cancer,Digestion,Blood Pressure,Immunity,Inflammation,Vision.

Sweet Potato Cutlets Recipe :
Thats it : Cook Veggies – Bind & Pat – Toast / Deep Fry
Total Time : 25mins
Serves : 8 cutlets.

Ingredients :
Sweet Potato OR Potato
2medium size (Yields 2Cups)
{ Chopped Carrot,Beans,Peas,Cauli flower,Panneer }
½ Cup
Big Onion
1 Chopped
Green Chilli
2 Chopped
Ginger Garlic Paste
Chilli Powder
1 tsp
Garam Masala Powder / Chat Masala Powder
¼ tsp
Coriander Leaves / Mint leaves
Crushed Bread pcs OR Corn flour
1 / 2tbsp
Lemon juice (OPTIONAL)
¾ tsp (adjust)

For Coating :
Maida Paste
/ Beaten Egg
3tbsp maida with 4tbsp water / 2Eggs
Bread Crumbs
½ Cup

Preparation :
1.Wash veggies,cut into big pieces.Pressure cook veggies with half veg level of water for 3whistles with high flame. {Cooking in high flame makes the veggies ¾ portion cooked} .Drain the water and mash the veggies coarsely.Use drained water for making soups,chappathi dough,dhal cooking.

2.Now add chopped onion,green chilli,ginger garlic paste,crushed bread,chilli powder,garam masala powder,lemon juice,salt and mix well.Taste it for the salt and spiciness.Divide the dough into balls and pat it slightly by both hands.

3.Make maida paste,gently dip all the patties in paste and coat well with breadcrumbs.

4.Toast OR Deep Fry :
Heat a dosai pan with medium flame,drizzle oil,keep all the patties on the pan.After 2mins flip over and toast for 2mins till it turns golden brown.[Toast well to ignore the raw smell of spice powders]

Sweet Potato Cutlets are ready ...!!!

Sweet Potato Cutlets should be tasted with Sweet and salty taste.
Serve with tomato Sauce.

Notes :
1.You can use potato instead of sweet potato.
2.If you are using sweet potato,add little amount of salt because the result should be both sweet and salty.
3.You can deep fry till it turns golden brown.
4.Adding lemon is to give sour taste which compensetes the absence of tomato taste.
5.You can replace maida paste with beaten egg mixture.
6.Dont waste the drained water from veggies,you can use this for making chappathi dough,boiling dhal,soups.
