Chicken Kuzhambu by pressure cooker (Using Coconut Milk)

Chicken Kuzhambu using coconut milk is the yummy dish when it paired with rice,roti,phulka,appam,idli,dosai etc;Chicken kuzhambu preparation and taste differs from home by home and state by state.Now am here with my mom’s traditional chicken kuzhambu which is so simple and tastes yummy.She prepared 3types of chicken kuzhambu ,each one has unique taste.She always use sambar onion(small onion) for her dishes.


She told the secret of the non-veg dishes remains on the vessel we prepared.Yes...! she told me to not shifting the non-veg dishes to bowls often except the serving bowl.You all experienced that the next day’s kuzhambu tastes yummier than the freshly cooked one.Usually when the dish is reduced to half we shifted to another vessel and so on...,so dont do that for the better and best taste.And the main important tip she advised was to serve the dish after an hour of preparation.This is the time the dish takes to blend all the aroma of ingredients.Adding coconut milk gives nice aroma to chicken kuzhambu.

Chicken Kuzhambu Recipe :
Cooking Time : 25mins
Serves : 2-3 Persons
Stays fresh for a day.

Ingredients :
Coconut Oil
2tbsp
Mustard
1tsp
Urad dhal
½ tsp
Cumin seeds / Jeeragam
1tsp
Red chilli

Cury Leaves
1sprig
Sambar onion(small)

Tomato
GingerGarlic paste
1big
1tsp
Turmeric Powder
¼ tsp
Chilli Powder
1tsp
Coriander Powder
2tsp
Chicken
½ kg
Water
1Cup
Salt
1tsp
Coconut Milk
1Cup
Water
1/2Cup
Coriander Leaves(OPT)
2Sprigs

You can use 3Green chillies instead of adding chilli powder.
It gives you the different taste.

Procedure :
# Cut chicken as your preferrable size.Wash Chicken pieces with 4times of rinsing.Use any one of the following items for better cleaning of chicken pieces.
# Extract Coconut Milk.
# Keep ready with the chopped veggies,spice powders.

1.Heat a cooker pan with medium heat,add oil,mustard,after it splutters,add urad dhal,jeeragam,red chillies,curry leaves,onion.Fry the onion till it turns brown in colour.


2.Now add chopped tomatoes,fry till mushy then add gingergarlic paste,turmeric powder,chilli powder,coriander powder fry for 2mins till the raw smell goes.Add chicken Pieces ,salt and fry for 3-4 mins.Chicken oozes with water.


3.Now add 1Cup of water and pressure cook for 2 whistles.


4.After pressure releases,add coconut milk,1/2 Cup of water and cook in low flame for 3-4mins.Garnish with coriander leaves.


Chicken Kuzhambu is Ready...!!!


Notes :

1.You can also add seeding to the finishing stage.In that case initially add oil and jeeragam then proceed.
2.I extract 1Cup of coconut milk from 1/2 whole Coconut.
3.You can also use 2tsp of sambar powder,1/2 tsp of chilli powder.
