Kondakadalai Sundal is a healthy evening snack which people love to have with Tea.This is popularly known as channa in india and its benifits are so high compared to other legumes.
During festival time,sundal can be offered to God as one of the offerrings.Long time ago,i prepared this post and was in my draft.Vinayagar Chathurthi / Pillayar Chathurthi is around the corner so i planned to post this now.For Vinayagar Chathurthi you can make any type of sundal,ladoo,modak,payasam,vada and offer to Lord Vinayaga.
Black Channa is low in fat,high in dietary fiber,rich in vitamins and minerals.Quarter Cup of these legumes are equivalent to one portion of the daily recommended five portions of fruits and vegetables.

Kondakadalai Sundal Recipe :
Thats it : Soak Channa - Pressure Cook - Seeding
Soaking Time : 5-8hrs / Overnight
Cooking Time : 15mins
Serves : 2People
Kondakadalai / Black Channa - 1/2 Cup
Urad dhal 1/2tsp
Red chillies 3
Curry Leaves 1Sprig
Grated Coconut 1/4Cup
# Soak channa in 1 1/2cup of water for 5-8hrs/overnight.After soaking time, it becomes double in size.
1.In cooker,add soaked channa with immersing level of water,salt and pressure cook for 5-6 whistles.After pressure releases,drain the water and reserve for other purpose of cooking.
2.Heat a pan with oil,add mustard,after it splutters,add urad dhal ,after it browns,add perungayam,red chillies,curry leaves.Now add drained channa and fry it for two mins,add grated coconut,switch off the flame.
Serve it as a Tea-Time snack.
