Maa Ladoo / Pottukadalai Urundai



Maa Ladoo is known as pottukadalai urundai (Fried Gram Dal Ladoo).It has numerous health benifits that low in calories and rich in iron and protein.The making of this ladoo process is so easy in a quick way.Yesterday i make this ladoo within 12mins.It tastes yummy and healthy for our kids.I added broken cashews to this ladoo for crunchiness.You can also add any chopped nuts,preferrably your kids favourite nuts otherwise they said 'No' sometimes.


Mom makes this ladoo and aval ladoo,rava ladoo often.Maa Ladoo is the perfect and healthy evening snack..It keeps kids stomach full for longer time.Cardamom / Elaichi & ghee gives nice flavour to this ladoo.You can store it in air-tight container and enjoy.

Maa Ladoo / Pottukadalai Urundai :
Thats it : Roast Dal - Powder all the ing.s - Add ghee & make ladoos
Total Time : 12-15mins
Makes : 10 medium sized ladoos

Ingredients :

Pottukadalai / Fried Gram Dal       1Cup
Sugar                                                  1/2 Cup
Ghee                                                   1/4 Cup
Cardamom                                          2 Pods
Cashews                                              6

(You can also add 2tbsp of aval/poha Or else half a quantity with pottukadalai)

Procedure :

1.Roast pottukadalai in a pan for a minute with a low flame,no need to wait till it changes in colour.Cool down for a minute and grind it as a fine powder.Keep aside.


2.Now take sugar along with cardamom pods in a mixie and grind as fine powder.After powdering the sugar it becomes 3/4Cup.


3.Heat ghee in a pan,add broken cashews and fry for a minute.


4.In a wide bowl add powdered flour,sugar and mix well.Pour melted ghee with cashews.Its hot so first slowly stir it with spoon.Now apply ghee to your palm and make ladoos when its bearable heat otherwise you cannot able to mould the ladoos.


Healthy Maa Ladoo is Ready !!!
