Javvarisi Payasam / Sago Kheer / Sabudana Kheer


Javvarisi-Sago-Sabudana

Javvarisi payasam is a traditional & easy dessert which we prepared often at home.Mom used to add semiya to this payasam,but i prepared with javvarisi alone.I used small-sized javvarisi variety,so i skip the soaking step and directly go for roasting.By this way also you can get yummy payasam.Me & my sissy(vg) call this payasam as the name 'White payasam' during childhood days.Now my Senior Prince also loved to have this.


My Man always love to have payasam varieties with papads,so he gave a maximum try to buy banana leaf,which is a traditional way.Try this easy payasam and treat your family.

Javvarisi Payasam :
Thats It : Cook Javvarisi - Add Milk & Sugar - Add Fried Cashews
Total Time : 30mins
Serves : 5Persons


Ingredients :
Javvarisi     1Cup
Milk           3Cups (boiled)
Water         4Cups
Sugar         1Cup+
Cashews    10
Raisins       7 (optional)
Cardamom Powder  1/2tsp
Melted Ghee            1tbsp

Preparation :                                       
1.Heat a pan in low flame,add ghee,cachews,roast till it browns.Keep aside.
Add Javvarisi to the same pan and roast it for 2-3 mins.


2.Now add water and cook till javvarisi becomes soft and transparency,it takes around 6-7mins.
Meanwhile boil milk in another pan.


3.Now add boiled milk,sugar and cook for 2mins till it blends,
Switch Off the flame.Add cardamom powder,fried cashews and stir once.



Initially it looks runny in consistency after cooling down,it bacomes thicker in consistency.
              Serve Hot or Chill



Notes :
* If your payasam is too thick while serving time,just add little milk and serve.
* You can follow the same procedure for big variety sago but it takes extra time to cook completely.
