Rice & Dal,Carrot Water/Porridge l (5to6+ months babies)

Rice and dal water gives instant energy to all the age groups people.Nowadays i started feeding this rice,dal water in alternative days to vikram.Gautham always wanted to taste a spoon of all new foods before feeding to his brother as he is enjoying his hoildays now,so he is taking care of his bro very well.So i happily double the quantity while cooking and serve him as a porridge with a dash of salt.His teeth started paining so he enjoyed eating this without any complaint.

So i dont want to post porridge recipe as a seperate post as it also has same procedure.Am adding grated carrot using bigger holes here,so am grinding it.So for 6+months babies you can follow the same recipe with less amount of water and grind it as a smooth paste.For 7months above babies feed as it is without grinding.You can add beetroot instead of carrot.

Rice & Dal,Carrot Water :(5+ months babies)
Thats It : Boil water - Add powders - Cook
Total Time : 10mins
Yield : 1Cup

Ingredients :
Rice Powder    1tbsp
Dal Powder      1tsp
Grated Carrot   1/4Cup
Water                1 1/2 Cups

Procedure :
1.Boil water in a small pan(preferrably).

2.Reduce the flame to low,then slowly add both the powders,stir it without any lumps.

3.Meanwhile wash the carrot and peel off the skin using peeler,grate it.

4.Now add this grated carrot to the boiled mixture.Cook in low flame for about 10mins or till it softens.[10mins of cooking is well enough as we used fine powders]

5.Strain it and collect all the extract by pressing with a spoon.

Cool Down till  it is warm and serve.

Rice & Dal,Carrot Porridge : (6+ months babies)
Thats It : Cook rice,dal powders with carrot - Make a paste
Total Time : 15mins
Yields : 3/4Cup

Ingredients :
Rice Powder    1tbsp
Dal Powder      1tsp
Grated Carrot   1/4Cup
Water                1 Cup

Procedure : 
1.Cool down the cooked rice & dal,carrot mixture.Make a paste using mixie.Serve it warm.

Rice & dal,carrot porridge is ready!!!

Keep some points in mind before introducing first / other foods to your babies.
* Six months of complete breastfeeding is essential for babies.Those who are not comfortable physically will go for introducing other recipes.Dont introduce new foods when your baby is suffering from cold and cough as that time mothers milk is the best remedy for that.
* Sterilize the bowls,spoons and bottles before feeding the foods.
* Keep reserve the seperate cooking pot(preferrably small) for making foods for babies.
* Make the homemade cereal powders in small quantity,very helpful one.
* Always start by feeding thin clear water/soup first.
* Serve it slightly warm,they hate chilled(room temperature) food.
* After introducing a new food,wait for 2days to check the reaction (it may be loose motion,mild rashes)in their body.[check 3days rule for infants in internet]
* Continue your first food recipe for 3days in alternate days, then switch over to next one.
* Say 'No' to salt,sugar,spiciness till 10months as all tastes are new to them and serve it little warm,they hate cool/room temp most of the times.[Its purely your wish]
* Strictly a big 'No' to honey till one year.
* Ghee and jaggery(good than sugar) is advisible after 6months.[Its purely your wish]
